Unique Hand Knitted Pieces

From maps, to farmyards, to gardens, Sarah Hobhouse’s inspiration comes from a desire to knit the unexpected. Based on the belief that you can make almost anything out of knitting, she creates unique and unusual pieces made almost entirely in this medium.

Sarah’s real passion is in creating three-dimensional plans of other people’s gardens in knitting. By using colour and texture she has developed a unique and individual technique that captures the essence and character of a garden, making it come to life in a way that is almost impossible on paper. When taking on a commission Sarah will look to the distinctive features of the particular garden, to enable her to produce an unmistakeable representation of the real thing.

As well as gardens, Sarah creates smaller items such as her unique napkin rings and Christmas decorations.
